Some days ago, I discovered that Youtube channels had their own rss feed. This was completely unknown to me and immediately I thought of improving my rss feed aggregator tool.

Now, mixing videos and articles could make the feed quite bloated which is not what I aim. The time I want to watch a video and the time I want to read article are not the same. As such, I just added the video feed to a new field in config, so it build a new page. I create a small button that switch to the video or article feed and it was done. I spent some more minutes refactoring the two function that were just the same.

Again I am quite mindblown by how easy Go is and how it get the job done without headaches.

I am very happy with this little application because it really fit my own need. I wonder how much future there is for software that is entirely tailor made to one usage. Often, software engineers are seduced by the idea of scaling or make a software that solve the general case, for the general user. But probably, software that really fit one'’s need can have a future.
